NEW YORK (1010 WINS) â An Uber driver was in a coma Saturday, weeks after he was beaten during a fight with passengers on the Upper East Side, police said.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects Saturday after the attack on the morning of Feb. 5.
The 54-year-old driver got into an argument with the passengers before the dispute escalated into a fight near 62nd Street and Second Avenue, police said.
A male passenger punched the driver in the face with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground, according to police. The suspects then took off.
The driver was rushed by EMS to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition with severe head trauma.
He was eventually placed into a coma and was upgraded to critical but stable condition, police said.
