Thank you so much for your help during these difficult times for so many people. You’re literally the ONLY resource I have seen who actually knows what is going on and even more importantly, GETS BACK TO US with an answer!
How in the world are you making any money doing this?! Set up a donation button!
RE: Hi Cathy, no need to worry, the $600 a week will be added to your weekly UI payment (most people are starting to see it in New Jersey as of last week). They will back-pay all your claimed weeks back to 3/29/20 to current. If you are a prior UI recipient it will be added to your benefits. Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) recipients will be receiving the state amount allocated plus the $600 in one payment as well, but those are lagging getting out to people, on the bright side checks are being cut and cashed! I would highly recommend that you log into [New Jersey] Department of Labor and Workforce Development account at: https://myunemployment.nj.gov/independentcontractors.shtml
Make sure your settings are for direct deposit for quickest payment!
Still having problems with NJ. They FINALLY are paying me UI but still no sign of the PUC ($600/week). Have you heard anything about why this is separate from the state payment and/if they’re ever going to send us the other? Is there some chance that we’re not getting the 600?
You have done everything correct so far. NJ wanted people to file and be in the system before they launch the PUA portal. It is still not determined if they will need you to file through PUA portal or will simply use the UI filing you have already done. Do NOT file a new state claim. You are right where you should be. Stay tuned we’ll update as soon as we have more details. Take care.
I filed for NJ UI before they put in the CV19 app. It is in a “$0” status and says I have to supply additional info. There’s no way to do that online and they don’t answer the phones. Should I just go ahead and file a new claim or sweat it out?
