Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) news updates for Sunday, May 10th: Happy Sunday y’all..  & Happy Mothers Day to all you moms out there!!! The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) Podcast for Rideshare drivers, Gig workers, Freelancers, Independent Contractors, Self-employed, Non-profit, etc. I want to start by making the list of states where the PUA portal is live and we know of people who applied AND have started receiving checks, if you live in the following states and have applied for PUA and NOT started receiving benefits please comment below: Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota,  Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. States who’s PUA portals have launched and are accepting applications, but so far no confirmation that people who applied and were accepted have received payment yet:
  • Connecticut > taking/accepting/approving applications > payments will be sent out mid-may
  • Florida > taking/accepting/approving applications > system is having issues > no confirmed date on payment dispersal
  • Maryland > taking/accepting/approving applications > system is having issues but we have heard payments will start being cut this week
  • Maine > taking/accepting/approving applications > payments will be sent out mid-may
  • New Hampshire > taking/accepting/approving applications > payments will be sent out mid-may
  • New Jersey > taking/accepting/approving applications > payments will be sent out mid-may
  • New York > taking/accepting/approving applications > payments will be sent out mid-may
  • Ohio > pre-approvals taking/accepting/approving applications > link to PUA for pre-registered coming this week > payments will be sent out late-may
  States who PUA portals are still not available to apply through, and the most current dates I was able to confirm for these states to launch their portals:
  • Arizona > due to launch this Tuesday May 12th
  • Delaware > due to launch this Monday May 11th
  • Illinois > due to launch this Monday May 11th
  • Kansas > due to launch this Tuesday May 12th

  1. You absolutely should! D.C. LUA applicants have started receiving benefits— did you choose PUA debit card, or direct deposit?

    I’m in Washington DC and I applied for PUA on or around 4/30. Unfortunately I haven’t received anything yet but hopefully I will this week.
