[By Stephen Cohn] MADISON — An Uber driver was taken to the hospital late Tuesday night after being allegedly pushed and knocked unconscious by a passenger. According to an incident report, the driver said he was pushed backwards by a passenger and hit his head on the road. Police said a passerby found the driver unconscious at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and East Doty Street with his SUV running nearby with the driver’s door open. The report said the driver was treated at the hospital and told police he dropped his last rider off on Capitol Square. He said the passenger chased after him as he drove away, hit his SUV and opened a rear door saying he forgot his cell phone in the backseat. Officials said the passenger slammed the door and the driver got out asking why the passenger slammed the door. The report said the passenger then pushed the driver. Madison police are working with Uber to get the passenger’s contact information. 01
